This project will focus on constructing a travel distance measure using an origin-destination derived from a shapefile, the purpose of which is to calculate optimal delivery routes.
Key activities will include.
- Identification and utilization of relevant attributes from the shapefile, particularly infrastructure features such as roads and bridges.
This serves because I have the data on origin - destination city so I computed the centroids.
From there the expert needs to find the closest node of the road network and find the travel distance considering speed limit and type of roads - Development of the full code in Python because I need it for replicability porpouse The resulting output should be for any origin-destination a measure of travel distance in minutes using car or public transport.
Ideal candidates will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) development and Python programming.
Experience utilizing qgis and working with shapefiles for similar projects is highly desirable.
Your expertise will contribute largely to the efficiency of our delivery system and the satisfaction of our customers.
