CALL FOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP | Research Initiation Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Aerodinâmica Industrial - ADAI opens a call for 1 fellowship for Research Initiation, in the framework of project EUDETCODE, reference PA nº B.

Scientific area(s).
Mechanical Engineering or similar areas Skills/Qualifications / Admission requirements Applicants who fulfill the following requisites will be considered.
a) completed a bachelor’s degree in the area of the competition or in related areas; b) with Portuguese nationality; c) knowledge of English Work plan/ Objectives The scholarship aims at scientific training through participation mainly in experimental activities for characterization the Photon Doppler velocimetry (PDV) system.
The work plan developed assumes the completion of work leading to a Doctoral degree.
The main tasks to be carried out are.
(1) Participation in the assembly and characterization work of a PDV (2) Computational work for analysis of experimental results (3) writing reports and scientific papers.
Regime.
The attribution of the fellowship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime.
The fellowship holder is awarded the Fellowship Statute of ADAI, in its current wording, according to the Research Fellowship Holder Statute, and according to the Regulation for Research Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.
., both in their current wording.
Location.
Work will be developed within the activities of the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics of the Associated Laboratory in Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (ADAI-LAETA).
The work place is mainly at DEM-FCTUC and possibly other places that are necessary for the execution of the work plan.
Duration.
The fellowship will last for 4 months on an exclusive basis, in accordance with the FCT Research Fellowship Regulations and the ADAI Scientific Research Fellowship Regulations.
Scientific orientation.
The work will be carried under the scientific guidance of Professor Ricardo Mendes Financial conditions.
The amount of the fellowship is € corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table (https://www.

n), plus the reimbursement of social security (Seguro Social Voluntário, first level contributions) and personal accidents insurance.
The payment will be made by bank transfer.
This amount will not be increased during the entire period of the fellowship duration.
Selection Methods.
All applications submitted within the deadline and containing all required documents will be evaluated Selection criteria.
In the Curricular Evaluation the following elements will be considered.
- Academic curriculum relevant to the objective of the work program (60%) - Scientific and/or professional curriculum relevant to the objective of the work program (40%) In the Interview the following parameters will be evaluated.
- Fluidity of speech and ability to convey ideas orally (35%); - Motivation and commitment (35%).
- Knowledge of the English language (30%) Candidates with a classification lower than , in the Curricular Evaluation, will be excluded from the competition.
In case the first-placed candidate does not accept the scholarship or gives up the scholarship during the course of the work program, the second-placed candidate may be invited to accept the scholarship.
This procedure may be repeated, according to the decision of the grantee's supervisors, respecting the order of the list included in the selection process minutes in subsequent cases of non-acceptance or withdrawal.
The Jury reserves the right not to place any of the candidates.

At all times during the evaluation process, confidentiality is fully protected and ensured in order to guarantee the independence of all opinions produced.
Applications.
The following documents are mandatory, under penalty of exclusion from the Call, and must be sent by email to .
- letter of motivation, where the applicant must mention if he / she is available to start the scholarship; - Curriculum Vitae, with indication of email and telephone contact; - Certificate of qualification, - the candidate's declaration of honor on the benefit of other previous scholarships awarded under the current FCT Scholarship Regulation - any other elements or documents considered relevant.
Submission deadline date 6 th to the 20 th February Expected starting date Beginning of March 24 Additional information The evaluation results will be announced within 90 working days after the end of the applications submission deadline, by notifying the applicants via email.
After the announcement of the results, candidates are considered automatically notified to, if they wish to do so, comment on the results on a preliminary hearing period within 10 days after that date.
After this, the selected candidates will have to declare in writing their acceptance.
Unless a justification worthy of consideration is presented, if the declaration is not submitted within the referred period, it is considered that the candidate waivers the fellowship.
In case of resignation or withdrawal of the selected candidate, the next candidate with the highest evaluation score will be notified immediately.
Once the selection process is completed, the fellowship contract will be drawn up in accordance with the draft contract provided by the FCT.
