The role.
The Strategy & Operational Excellence (S&OE) team are the backbone of Global Procurement, supporting the delivery of our vision and strategic plan to become a best-in-class function as we embark on the exciting journey towards our corporate Bold Ambition.
As a Business Process Owner within S&OE, you will own and lead the definition, design, deployment and ongoing improvement of the Supplier Management process to ensure efficient, effective and transparent ways of working.
You will use your expertise to drive standardisation across Global Procurement and ensure that we strike the right balance between risk mitigation, simplification, and innovation.
Supplier Management is an integral part of how Global Procurement delivers value to the business through the development of mutually beneficial relationships with our suppliers.
You will set the strategic direction for the process, working with the Executive Process Owner (EPO), and drive the process to that end goal, ultimately enabling the delivery of our functional vision and strategic plan.
Lean and Digital are critical aspects to us becoming more agile and efficient as a function and therefore play a key role in the strategic direction of our processes.
You will need to understand our Lean Strategy and Digital Strategy and partner closely with these SMEs to ensure alignment and collaborate in defining the future direction of these strategies to meet business process needs.
You will establish and lead a process network to drive process maturity and continuous improvement.
You will work to identify and act upon technological enhancements to drive efficiency.
What you'll do.
* Design and own the process including standards and procedures * Engage and lead a process network * Provide training materials, expert advice and coaching * Drive adherence to the process * Drive standardisation and simplification, applying Lean Principles where appropriate * Define KPIs; manage continuous improvement and change * Manage links with related processes / BPOs * Manage any supporting systems (with System Owner) and define technology improvements.
* Own the business continuity plan for the process if required Essential skills & experience.
* Significant experience in Supplier Management either as a process owner or from direct management of strategic supplier relationships.
* Good understanding of Business Process Management (BPM) frameworks with operational experience from working in a cross-functional process network or as a process user in a global process * Good understanding of Lean Principles * Significant Procurement and/or Supply Chain experience * Experience in change management and people management skills * Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others * Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically * Proven track record of delivering projects in a global environment * Ability to challenge the 'status quo' and embedded ways of working to drive positive and sustainable change When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines.
