Finance Manager - Hospitality industry - Oporto THE ROLE The Finance Manager will assist the Finance Director for Iberia in establishing our client business in Portugal and play a key role in preparing the company for the delivery of new business operations.
The role requires someone with the ability to run the day-to-day finance function for the Hospitality division team, working effectively with internal stakeholders to implement best in class policies & procedures, and to leverage the support of external stakeholders to ensure the company adheres to local regulatory requirements.
A significant focus in the role will be partnering with the Portuguese Hospitality division during operational planning and delivery; as well as the Head of F&B and the wider Senior Management team in Portugal and Iberia, helping to implement and develop new Hospitality systems, managing budgets, and overseeing accounting functions.
This is a new opportunity to be an integral part of the team tasked with building a global business’ Hospitality presence in Portugal but will also be expected to play a pivotal role in the wider Iberian Finance team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Establish and implement policies & procedures relevant to the Hospitality division to operate a best-in-class finance function.
• Responsible for all accounting & compliance processes for the Hospitality division in Portugal.
• Ensure a timely and accurate month end closing process for the Hospitality division, with delivery of management reporting and commentary.
• Represent the Finance department in system implementation and development for the Hospitality division in Portugal and Iberia.
• Build solid working relationships with business and central function department leaders, supporting the planning and operational delivery.
• Support the Finance Director for Iberia during budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning & analysis.
• Ensure the business follows all statutory reporting and tax compliance processes, leveraging local professional services.
• Key involvement in cashflow management and reporting in Iberia.
• Assistance with annual audit process.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels.

• Minimum 5 years of Finance experience covering all principal areas of accounting and including Financial Planning & Analysis experience.
• Professional accounting qualification.
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office software required.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential.
• Ability to connect financial accounting information with its business context.
• Proactive attitude and strong ability to building relationships with business partners.
• Must be highly analytical, have the ability to think creatively and be proactive in striving for continuous process improvement.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese & English, and the ability to multi- task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
