About the Role.
As an advocate for environment, health, and safety as core values at Boston Scientific, the EHS Specialist develops and supports programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with company requirements and all regulations pertaining to the site.
The incumbent will provide guidance, training, and support, while influencing engagement and contributions from EHS colleagues, internal stakeholders, and external resources to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include.
Providing EHS site support for internal customers including manufacturing, process development, and research and development laboratories  Identifying opportunities to minimize risks and prevent workplace injuries; work with cross-functional teams to drive projects and support continuous improvement initiatives Administrating ISO Health & Safety Management System including internal/external audit facilitation and risk management; identify opportunities for improvement, implement recommendations and mange related documentation Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis and after-action reviews; collaborate with process owners to develop and implement corrective actions and engineering controls as needed Partnering with regulatory agencies to conduct site inspections; provide regulatory guidance and safety recommendations for processes, equipment, and facility infrastructure design Conducting risk assessments on processes, equipment, and chemicals, identify compliance concerns, program non-conformities and opportunities for improvement  Conducting EHS audits, self-assessments, and inspections to ensure workplace conditions comply with internal policies, program requirements and applicable local, state, and national regulations Building and maintaining relationships with contracted safety services and consultants  Leading and supporting EHS-related committees, task forces, and cross-functional teams; serve on the site’s emergency response team(s) Facilitating regulatory compliance activities; coordinate work efforts and recordkeeping related to chemical exposure monitoring (industrial hygiene), confined spaces, electrical safety, emergency action planning, equipment safety (machine guarding), fire prevention, chemical hygiene / lab safety, laser safety, contractor safety, respiratory protection, and safe facility design    Required qualifications.
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, safety engineering, safety management, occupational health, or related discipline Minimum 2 years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Minimum 4 years of experience with safety-related programs, policies, procedures and regulations   Preferred qualifications.
Experience working in pharmaceutical, medical device, electronics, or similarly regulated industry Experience with ergonomic risk reduction, emergency response and incident command in a manufacturing, laboratory, or office setting Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and/or Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams    Requisition ID.
