CGI Federal is hiring an AWS Cloud FinOps Architect.
In this position, you will work with multiple IT disciplines in shaping, executing and sustaining the Cloud/Hosting FinOps strategy for a shared service platform focused on identifying and mitigating a wide range of cyber risks.
You will work closely with the Cloud Architecture and Operations teams to support the client’s mission, priorities, and unique challenges.
You will also support the implementation of cyber security COTS offerings focusing on next generation security solutions and technologies.
This position is located in our Fairfax, VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
You will be required to be in our Fairfax, VA office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Devise a set of Cloud Service cost optimization rules and templates that will be used in architecting/designing AWS Cloud Infrastructure solution • Participate actively in AWS Cloud architecture discussions to ensure proper cost optimization factors are considered for an efficient solution • Work with Engineering and Operations team to ensure proper thresholds and alerts are created to track resource usage and cost consumption • Design, develop and automate AWS cloud cost reporting dashboards to track budgeted vs actual cloud costs • Periodically provide a thorough analysis of cloud costs, review with all the stakeholders and make recommendations to optimize the costs • Proactively communicate and coordinate with multiple project teams.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Due to the nature of the contract requirements, US citizenship and successful passing of CGI background check is required prior to beginning work.
In addition, candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS CISA EOD/Public Trust clearance • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or a master’s degree and a minimum of 2 year of related experience • Experience in Cloud Service Cost optimization planning and execution • Through knowledge of various AWS Cloud service cost tiers and experience in applying knowledge in Cloud solution development • Ability to drive cost factor in architecture and design phase • Capability to analyze and identify possible cost optimization, based on service consumptions, leading to overall cloud cost reduction • Knowledge/understanding of tagging/grouping of Cloud resources based on a defined taxonomy • 2+ years of experience in generating AWS cloud cost reports with allocation details based on grouping/tagging of resources • Experience in using Cloud Cost management Tools is an added advantage CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications.
