SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

Our fintech client is a market leader in providing data and business intelligence to help financial services professionals make faster and smarter investment decisions.
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator for their office in Bogota (Colombia), with expertise in managing cloud-based databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MySQL.
You will engage with multiple engineering teams, while contributing to the seamless integration of database solutions for the company's products.
Responsibilities.
Deploy and configure PostgreSQL and MySQL in cloud-based environments.
Optimize database configurations for performance and scalability.
Set up monitoring tools to track the health and performance of database instances Implement and manage cloud-native security measures, including identity and access management, and encryption.
Develop backup and recovery strategies using cloud-native tools Set up and manage replication for high availability and fault tolerance Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database structures.
Plan and execute database upgrades, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
Monitor database growth and performance trends to anticipate and address capacity requirements.
Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine database maintenance tasks.
Document database, configurations, processes and troubleshooting procedures Provide on-call support for production databases Mentor and guide team members by sharing knowledge, setting high standards and promoting best practices.
Requirements.
6+ years of DBA experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL 3+ years of cloud-based DBA experience Strong experience with relational database systems Strong experience with database security best practices Experience with large volume OLTP database systems Solid understanding of Linux commands and shell scripting Excellent problem solving skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Experience with IaC tools like Terraform is a plus Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Saltstack, Chef is a plus Experience with SOC2 compliance is a plus
