CALL FOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP The Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Aerodinâmica Industrial (ADAI) opens a tender for the award of one (1) Research Grant (BI) for Master in the framework of the Scientific Research and Technological Development Project (IC&DT) SAFEFOREST – “Semi-Autonomous Robotic System for Forest Cleaning and Fire Prevention” with reference , funded by the European Fund for Regional Development (FEDER), through the Operational Program for Competitiveness and Internationalization and / or the Regional Operational Program of the Center, of Portugal , according to the System of Incentives to Companies (SI), regulated by Decree 57-A/ of 27 February., with the following conditions.
Scientific area(s).
Computer Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Skills / Qualifications / Admission requirements Masters who are enrolled, or who undertake to apply shortly after awarding the scholarship, in a doctoral program or other non-academic degree courses in the areas of Computer Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or similar areas may apply.
Candidates should preferably have a good knowledge of Physics and computation.
A good knowledge of spoken and written English.
Work plan/ Objectives The selected candidate will develop tasks in the field of vegetation mapping.
1) Development of algorithms for vegetation mapping and vegetation properties characterization as fuels; 2) Simulation, testing and experimental validation of results and models obtained; 3) Production of scientific reports and articles based on the work developed; 4) Participation in the dissemination tasks and presentation of the results obtained.
Regime.
The attribution of the fellowship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime.
The fellowship holder is awarded the Fellowship Statute of ADAI, in its current wording, according to the Research Fellowship Holder Statute, and according to the Regulation for Research Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.
., both in their current wording.
Location.
Work will be developed within the activities of the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics of the Associated Laboratory in Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (ADAI-LAETA).
The work place is located at Rua Pedro Hispano, Coimbra, or other places that are necessary for the execution of the work plan Duration.
The fellowship will last for 3 months on an exclusive basis, in accordance with the FCT Research Fellowship Regulations and the ADAI Scientific Research Fellowship Regulations.

The payment will be made by bank transfer.
This amount will not be increased during the entire period of the fellowship duration.
Selection Methods.
All applications submitted within the deadline and containing all required documents will be evaluated Selection criteria.
Admissible applications will be scored on a scale of 1 to 100 points on each of the following evaluation criteria.
** Curricular Assessment (65%) ** Interview (35%) The Curriculum Evaluation criterion, with a total weight of 65% in the final score, is divided into the following subcriteria.
AC (65%) = A1 (10%) + A2 (5%) + A3 (10%) + A4 (20%) + B (20%) · Sub-criterion A1 - Scientific production, with a total weight of 10%; · Sub-criterion A2 - Specialization courses, with a total weight of 5%; · Sub-criterion A3 - IT skills, with a total weight of 10%; · Sub-criterion A4 - Academic qualifications and final classifications, with a total weight of 20%; · Sub-criterion B - Merit of the letter of motivation, with a total weight of 20%; The interview, conducted in English, will have a total weight of 35% in the final score and is divided into the following subcriteria.
E (35%) = E1 (15%) + E2 (10%) + E3 (10%) · Sub-criterion E1 - Analysis and critical sense, with a total weight of 15%; · Sub-criterion E2 - Motivation and interest, with a total weight of 10%.
· Sub-criterion E3 - Mastery of English, with a total weight of 10%.
If none of the candidates have the adequate profile (global evaluation below 50%), the grant will not be awarded.

Submission deadline date Additional information The evaluation results will be announced within 90 working days after the end of the applications submission deadline, by notifying the applicants via email.
After the announcement of the results, candidates are considered automatically notified to, if they wish to do so, comment on the results on a preliminary hearing period within 10 days after that date.
After this, the selected candidates will have to declare in writing their acceptance.
Unless a justification worthy of consideration is presented, if the declaration is not submitted within the referred period, it is considered that the candidate waivers the fellowship.
In case of resignation or withdrawal of the selected candidate, the next candidate with the highest evaluation score will be notified immediately.
Once the selection process is completed, the fellowship contract will be drawn up in accordance with the draft contract provided by the FCT.
Selection reserve list The selection reserve list must be available throughout the project.
