Based on the needs of our customers we design, develop and deliver turbine, plant and hybrid power solutions.
In Power Solutions we cover the full life-time of our products, from the early exploring and incubation of new technologies to the handling of CIM cases on our installed fleet.
We work closely with our colleagues across Vestas to deliver customer value.
The Power Solutions Porto and Chennai build and add capacity and capability to the global engineering organization.
Working together with the other Power Solutions in Denmark, Germany and UK, Chennai and Porto Engineering Centres focus on the research and development and engineering support spanning all of Vestas' product portfolio.
With a broad engineering capability spanning all engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, controls, software, data analytics, these centres strengthen the global R&D setup, within a creative and engaging environment.
With the right competences and tools and through lean and efficient processes, we create design solutions for all Vestas product portfolio, aiming to reduce complexity and facilitate efficiency improvements.
Responsibilities * Extract, analyze and interpret large amounts of data from a range of sources related with the Powertrain module * Many of the activities also require involvement of external partners such as research institutes or suppliers, which requires a combination of proven technical competences, effective communication skills and a commercial mindset * Deliver technical and innovative activities * You will become part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for delivery of work packages and technical solutions to the entire Powertrain area * Develop and research projects and contribute to make sure that the Powertrain system and its components meet our expectations * Plan, implement, evaluate and report your analysis results as input to the design and verification activities of our wind turbine product platforms within On- and Offshore projects * Work closely with stakeholders to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making * Build algorithms to extract data to report to colleagues, customers or the wider organization * Assess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methods * Develop algorithms for data extraction, preparation, management, and visualization * Support and facilitate utilization and connection methods and results across the Powertrain area Qualifications * Master's degree in Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Science, or similar * Familiar with rotating machinery (gears, bearings, etc) from Wind Turbine, Aerospace or Heavy Industries.- Experience with scripting (Python, MATLAB, or similar) and version control (git, or similar) * Experience working with databases and different data structures * Fluent in English (written and spoken) * Ability to work in a complex and varied environment Competencies * Your analytical skills in combination with your university education enable you to focus your activities for finding the optimum technical solution within the given boundaries * Thanks to your pro-active and motivated personality, you achieve your results by setting the direction, defining and setting task precedence and making sure that necessary conclusion can be taken * With your structured and organized way of working you plan and prioritize the tasks while at the same time keeping focus on the overall targets * Your organizational and communicative skills allow you to achieve your results through international and multi-disciplinary teams which involve colleagues from various parts of Vestas What we offer We offer you a creative position with excellent professional and personal development opportunities in an inspiring, international work environment at an established manufacturer of wind turbines.
