About the role The Electrical Hardware Design Engineer will apply their expertise in the definition, designing, and testing of electronics in the development of EP ablation medical devices.
As a member of the EP electrical hardware design team in Montreal, you will make important contributions to the development of first-of-a-kind, life-changing medical devices through the design and testing of electronic circuits for high-voltage therapy delivery, communication, and sensor interface.
You will have the opportunity to own and drive portions of the design while being part of an experienced design team providing significant technical and career growth opportunities.
Your responsibilities include.
Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests electrical circuits and systems by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies.
Solves engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
Investigates, researches, and selects electronic circuits, components, tools, and equipment using best practices.
Documents electrical development by writing procedures, reports, memos, and change requests.
Tracks electrical development effort by creating and maintaining records in Jira and other approved tracking management tools Provides clear communication to stakeholders at key technical updates to facilitate crisp decision-making.
Develops novel improvements to products or processes resulting in expansion of BSC’s Intellectual Property portfolio in key strategic areas.
Works cooperatively with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing on complex projects to ensure project success.
Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and other engineers.
In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures.
Required qualifications.
BS in Electrical Engineering  Required minimum years of relevant work experience.
5 yrs with BS, or 3 yrs with MS Strong electrical engineering skills, specifically high-voltage/high power circuit and digital design Design of analog and digital electronics including PCB design Strong Experience with uC.
CPLD, FPGA designs Experience in power supply design Experience utilizing EMI/EMC best practices for board-level circuit design using Altium and or similar packages Solid lab experience with debugging, fixtures, and test equipment.
Expertise in circuit design analysis techniques and simulation tools such as LTSpice     Preferred Qualifications Experience with medical device electronics and systems Experience using electrical engineering analysis techniques to map high-level requirements into circuit specifications Familiarity with signal processing concepts, experience with LabView and/or Matlab Experience using Python for automation of simulation and data analysis  Experience with firmware debugging Ability to solve complex problems with root cause analysis, including designing and executing experimental plans and using statistical methodologies to drive data-based decisions Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently to plan, schedule, and execute activities necessary to meet project timelines     À propos du poste L ' ingénieur en conception de matériel électrique  met à profit son expertise dans la définition, la conception et la mise à l’essai de l’électronique dans le cadre de la mise au point de dispositifs médicaux d’ablation EP.
En tant que membre de l’équipe de conception du matériel électrique d’EP à Montréal, il contribue de manière importante au développement d’appareils médicaux inédits qui transforment les vies en concevant et en expérimentant des circuits électroniques pour l’administration de traitements à haute tension, la communication et l’interface avec les sondes.
Il aura l’occasion de prendre en charge et de diriger des parties des études tout en faisant partie d’une équipe de conception expérimentée qui lui offrira d’importantes possibilités d’évolution technique et de carrière.

Responsabilités  Concevoir, développer, déboguer, modifier et mettre à l’essai des circuits et des systèmes électriques en utilisant les outils, les techniques d’analyse et les technologies les plus récents.
Résoudre les problèmes d’ingénierie en analysant la situation et en recommandant la mise en œuvre de mesures correctives ou de remplacement.
Étudier, chercher et choisir des circuits électroniques, des composants, des outils et des équipements en appliquant les pratiques exemplaires.
Documenter le développement des composants électriques en rédigeant des procédures, des rapports, des notes de service et des demandes de modification.
Assurer le suivi des efforts de développement des composants électriques en créant et en conservant des dossiers dans Jira et dans d’autres outils de gestion du suivi approuvés.
Communiquer clairement aux parties concernées les principales mises à jour techniques afin de faciliter la prise de décisions éclairées.
Développer de nouvelles améliorations pour les produits ou les processus afin de renforcer le portefeuille de propriété intellectuelle de BSC dans des domaines stratégiques clés.
Travailler en collaboration avec les services de développement des processus, de qualité, de fabrication, de réglementation, de recherche clinique et de marketing sur des projets complexes afin d’en assurer la réussite.
Former des techniciens et d’autres ingénieurs ou leur donner des directives de travail.
Faire preuve en tout temps d’un engagement de premier plan en faveur de la sécurité des patients et de la qualité des produits en respectant l’ensemble des processus et des procédures de qualité documentés.
Qualifications requises   Baccalauréat en génie électrique.
Minimum d’années d’expérience professionnelle pertinente requis .
5 ans avec baccalauréat, ou 3 ans avec maîtrise.
Excellentes compétences en électrotechnique, notamment en matière de conception de circuits électroniques et de circuits à haute tension et à haute puissance.
Conception de circuits électroniques analogiques et numériques, y compris la conception de circuits imprimés.
Grande expérience en matière de conception de circuits uC, CPLD et FPGA.
Expérience dans le domaine de la conception de dispositifs d’alimentation électrique.
Expérience en matière d’utilisation des pratiques optimales d’IEM/CEM pour la conception de circuits au niveau de la carte à l’aide d’Altium ou d’autres progiciels similaires.
Expérience approfondie en laboratoire dans le domaine du débogage, du montage et des équipements d’essai.
Expertise en matière de techniques d’analyse des circuits et d’outils de simulation tels que LTSpice.
Qualifications souhaitées Expérience dans le domaine de l’électronique et des systèmes de dispositifs médicaux.
Expérience en matière d’utilisation de techniques d’analyse du génie électrique pour transposer les exigences de haut niveau en spécifications de circuits.
Familiarité avec les concepts de traitement des signaux et expérience avec LabView ou Matlab.
Expérience dans l’utilisation de Python pour l’automatisation de la simulation et de l’analyse des données.
Expérience dans le domaine du débogage des micrologiciels.
Capacité à résoudre des problèmes complexes en analysant les causes profondes, notamment en concevant et en exécutant des plans d’expérimentation et en utilisant des méthodologies statistiques pour prendre des décisions fondées sur des données.
Capacité à tirer des conclusions et à formuler des recommandations à partir d’informations techniques provenant de sources multiples et variées.
Excellentes aptitudes en matière d’organisation, de communication et de collaboration.
Capacité à travailler de manière autonome pour planifier, programmer et exécuter les activités nécessaires au respect des délais du projet.
