YOUR ROLE We are establishing a Center of Expertise focused on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology.
We are seeking a highly skilled DWDM Engineer to join our team and drive the successful delivery of projects while providing exceptional support to our customers in Portugal and Europe.
* Network Design and Implementation; * Design and configure DWDM systems to meet specific network requirements.
* Implement and test DWDM solutions, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards; * Technical Support and Maintenance; * Provide expert support to customers, addressing and resolving technical issues promptly; * Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to ensure network stability and performance; * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of DWDM networks; * Documentation and Compliance; * Maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams and configuration records; * Ensure all network implementations comply with industry regulations and best practices; * Capacity Planning and Optimization; * Conduct capacity planning to accommodate network growth and recommend expansions or upgrades; * Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring and analysis.
YOUR PROFILE * Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting DWDM networks.
* Strong knowledge of DWDM technology and optical networking principles.
* Experience with network equipment from Ciena, Huawei, and Nokia.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
* Ability to travel within Portugal and Europe as required.
