DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR CONSULTANT

Position Description.
As a Server Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of our company's server infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include managing server resources, handling server reboots, monitoring logs for troubleshooting purposes, and overseeing IIS certificate renewals.
Additionally, your expertise in support work, incident management, problem resolution, technical analysis, and coordination will contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our server systems.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
CPU, Memory, and Disk Management.
Monitor and manage server resources to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
Server Reboot.
Execute server reboots as necessary while minimizing downtime and impact on operations.
Log Management.
Review AX crash logs and event logs for troubleshooting purposes, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
IIS Certificate Renewal.
Manage the renewal process for IIS certificates to maintain secure and uninterrupted web services.
Additional Duties.
Experience in Support Work.
Utilize your background in support work to provide timely assistance and solutions to server-related issues.
Incident Management.
Respond to and resolve server incidents efficiently to minimize disruptions to business operations.
Problem Management.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring server problems.
Technical Investigation and Analysis.
Investigate technical issues, analyze data, and propose effective solutions to enhance server performance and reliability.
Technical Coordination and Planning.
Collaborate with team members to plan and coordinate server maintenance activities, upgrades, and migrations effectively.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
Willingness to work on a shifting schedule.
Willingness to work during Philippine holidays if necessary.
Willingness to work in McKinley Taguig twice a week.
Competencies / Skills.
Database Administration.
Proficient in administering and managing SQL databases to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
Monitoring and Handling Head Blockers, Long Running Queries, and Long Open Transactions.
Skilled in identifying and resolving performance issues such as head blockers, long-running queries, and long open transactions to optimize database performance.
SQL Query Performance.
Capable of reviewing identified queries, analyzing their performance, and providing recommendations to improve query efficiency.
T-SQL Programming.
Proficient in T-SQL programming for managing and querying data, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
SQL Agent Jobs.
Experienced in managing SQL Agent jobs within the scope of Server Object Model (SOM) and Database (DB), ensuring their proper execution and scheduling.
SQL Replication.
Knowledgeable in configuring and managing SQL replication to replicate data across multiple servers for high availability and disaster recovery purposes.
SQL Database Backup.
Skilled in performing ad-hoc backups of SQL databases as requested or needed to ensure data integrity and availability.
SQL Database Restore.
Proficient in restoring SQL databases from backups in the event of data loss or corruption, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
SQL Profiler Tracing.
Familiar with using SQL Profiler to capture and analyze SQL Server activity for performance tuning, troubleshooting, and auditing purposes.
Update Statistics and Re-indexing.
Experienced in performing ad-hoc updates of statistics and re-indexing operations to optimize database performance and maintain data integrity.
