DATA PROTECTION SPECIALIST

We are hiring! Data Protection and Compliance Specialist Location.

Overall Mission Integrating the Legal, Compliance and Data Protection team as the primary support to the Group Data Protection Officer, the Data Protection and Compliance Specialist will play a key role in managing the Data Protection day-to-day of Cryoport Group and in starting the process of establishing an overall internal compliance system.
Main Contribution 1.
Within the broader scope of internal Compliance, serve as a key stakeholder for all data protection related matters.

Support the implementation and maintenance of a privacy governance framework (while starting to develop an internal compliance system) to manage data use in compliance with applicable data protection regulations (namely GDPR) 3.
Work with key internal stakeholders in the review of projects, related data, and agreements to ensure compliance with local data privacy laws 4.
Participates in the Data Protection/Information Security Governance Committees.

Develops and delivers privacy training to various business functions.

Coordinates and conducts audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues.

Collaborates with the Information Security function(s), namely IT, to maintain records of all data assets and exports and maintains a data security incident management plan 8.
Draft new and amend existing internal policies, guidelines and procedures 9.
Advising Legal and Management on compliance matters.
What are we looking for? You have.
College degree and a minimum of 3 years’ professional work experience relevant to the scope of this position.
Professional work experience must include the following.
developing policy and compliance training; demonstrated understanding and application of data privacy laws; and working within a compliance, legal, audit/and or risk function with recent experience in privacy compliance.
Good to have experience working in a global organisation.
English proficiency (French is valued).
In addition, you have excellent oral and written communication skills.
You are autonomous, proactive, organised and have a sense of confidentiality and discretion.
Your previous professional experience has given you the ability to multitask, to prioritise tasks effectively and to work under pressure.
