Full Time Job Description.
The Information Management Advisor (Data Control Lead) is responsible for the definition of Information Management needs of the business stakeholders and the determination of Information Management solutions to meet those needs or resolve business problems.
The purpose of the role is to provide consultation to the business to support the deployment and embedding of Information Management standards, roles, responsibilities, competencies, initiatives, and services within the business and to ensure IM compliance requirements are monitored and reported accurately.
The Information Management Advisor participates in the setting of priorities for IM services and assesses their performance and leads, implements, develops, and defines procedures for all aspects of Data Control and supports the Digitization vision with deployment support of Digital Tools within the Project.
The role is about being the focal point between the business and IT to provide best practice guidance and consultation on Information Management practices, solutions, and tools to support specific business processes and hit specific business metrics.
The IM Advisor (Data Control Lead) will actively work with the business to design and deliver fit for purpose IM solutions.
The IM Advisor (Data Control Lead) drives and ensures compliance to IM standards, manual and data privacy and embeds IM standards in line with business strategy.
They will also champion and advocate IM best practice and help the business in gaining more awareness around IM.
Responsibilities.
• Acts as first point of contact for the respective business on Information Management and advises the business on how to use the full capabilities of Information Management solutions.
• Assist and educate individuals and teams on IM compliance requirements and ensures IM compliance monitoring and controls are in place, are applied within the Business/Functions and are reported to key stakeholders.
• Actively works with the business to design and deliver fit for purpose Information Management solutions.
• Compares market standard solutions with inhouse developed or legacy solutions and provides consultation to the business.
• Liaises with the business and developers internally and externally to deliver Information Management solutions.
• Liaise with support groups and Project teams for configuration and implementation of Integrated Data Centric solutions like Digital Twins, Integrated Engineering Design tools, Vendor Catalogues, 4D & 5D in Construction management, Track and trace applications, Commissioning management tools etc.
Data Modelling, Data elements mapping to Data modelling Standards like RDL and EDaM, Data & Solution Architecture preparation for Digital deployments.
• Contribute to the Project IM function and thus to the success of the Capital Projects by working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, by implementing and improving global IM standards and identifying innovative IM solutions.
• Implement the control systems, processes, procedures, and work instructions as per the Information Management Plan, which will follow the Contract Information Specification based on the Engineering Information Specification (EIS) DEP and project IM delivery best practices in Capital Projects and the Engineering maintenance organization.
• Drives and ensures compliance to IM standards, manual, data privacy and other IM-related laws and regulations within their respective business.
• Deploys and embed IM standards, roles and responsibilities as defined in the business strategy.
• Monitors and proposes initiatives to improve IM health and functional excellence in execution.
• Champions and advocates Information Management best practice within the business and helps the business in gaining more awareness around Information Management.
• Performs risk management activities, has knowledge on control framework, audit, and assurance activities.
• Develop and deliver project data control procedures covering data validation and handover to Operations, based the Company specific data control delivery procedure.
• Prepare specifications for data (requirement, control, delivery) based on Company procedures and standards.
• Lead preparation and maintenance of the project reference data libraries for each data-oriented application.
• Manage collection, integration, and validation of data from contractors and/or internal project stakeholders into central data repository.
• Assist OR&A in developing approach to CMMS build and ensuring all requirements are conveyed to delivery groups.
• Manage overall Project to Asset data handover.
• Prepare and issue data performance reports (status, progress, and forecast).
• Manage services provided by offshore data support contractors (e.
., data scraping).
• Training to end users for Information Management tools.
• Lead data control activities across a number of Capital Projects which may be at various stages of the ORP.
• Working in a highly virtualized environment in a geographically diverse and multicultural team.
• Ensuring that various disciplines on the Capital Project follow the specifications and the standards.
• Ability to work in a fast moving, rapidly changing and dynamic environment of a major Capital Project.
Must-Have Skills.
• Minimum of 8-10 years industry experience as Data Controller with knowledge of data control processes and systems on Major Capital Projects, and of EPC interface management.
• Substantial experience in writing and manipulating databases (SQL).
• Extensive knowledge of EDMS (preferably Assai Cloud).
• Breadth and depth of knowledge of cross-discipline engineering data (requirements and use) including business data model of engineering, spare parts processes, Maintenance Management System build processes.
• Knowledge of engineering databases, Sharepoint, data and document management systems.
• Experience of working and configuring with Engineering Data Warehouse (EDW) systems.
Preferably, SPF.
AVEVA, AIM, ALIM, etc.
• Proven project management experience.
• Knowledge of reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau etc.
• Ability to execute projects requiring cross-organizational alignment.
• Knowledge of Engineering IM Scope of Work and Information Specification in a major contract, DEP, Engineering Information Specification (EIS) and the related document.
• Experience managing small teams of junior staff personnel.
• Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or comparable business experience.
• Exception written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate complex issues for consumption by technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.
• Ability to take loosely defined business questions and translate them into clearly defined technical/data specifications.
• Proven track record of being able to learn, develop and implement new technologies, ideas, and initiatives.
• Understanding of Information Management Policy Development and Implementation, Information Architecture, Data Strategy and Governance, Data Lifecycle and Data Quality.
• A firm grounding in objective classification systems, taxonomies, metadata, and archival practices.
• Knowledge of the legal and compliance aspects of information management including GDPR, security, privacy, intellectual property, and digital governance.
• Information Governance.
Leadership Skills • Have strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Is highly experienced in communicating with business at all levels.
• Comfortable to work with global stakeholders, internally and externally.
• Experience of working in a global business environment / different culture.
