CALL FOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP | CB4EES_BI Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Aerodinâmica Industrial - ADAI opens a call for 1 fellowship for Research Fellowship, in the framework of project CB4EES - Carnot Batteries for Electric Energy Storage, reference .
TDC, financed by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, in the following conditions.
Scientific area(s).
Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial and Management Engineering and similar areas Skills/Qualifications/Admission requirements Applicants who fulfill the following requisites will be considered.
a) completed a bachelor’s degree in the area of the competition or in related areas; b) with Portuguese nationality; c) knowledge of English Work plan/ Objectives The research grant aims at the elaboration of computational model developed in Matlab environment for simulation a thermally integrated Carnot Battery from external heat source (e.
.
solar, geothermal).
The work plan will involve.
1.
Carnot battery performance modeling.
2.
Performance optimization via genetic algorithms; 3.
Focus on the sensible heat storage modeling.
4.
Writing and preparation of scientific paper for journal submission Regime.
The attribution of the fellowship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime.
The fellowship holder is awarded the Fellowship Statute of ADAI, according to the Research Fellowship Holder Statute, and according to the Regulation for Research Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.
., both in their current wording.
Location.
Work will be developed within the activities of the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics of the Associated Laboratory in Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (ADAI-LAETA).
The work place is mainly in DEM-FCTUC and possibly other places that are necessary for the execution of the work plan.
Duration.
The fellowship will last for 6 months on an exclusive basis, in accordance with the FCT Research Fellowship Regulations and the ADAI Scientific Research Fellowship Regulations.
Scientific orientation.
The work will be carried under the scientific guidance of Professor Márcio Santos Financial conditions.
The amount of the fellowship is € corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table (https://www.

The payment will be made by bank transfer.
This amount will not be increased during the entire period of the fellowship duration.
Selection Methods.
All applications submitted within the deadline and containing all required documents will be evaluated Selection criteria.
In the Curricular Evaluation the following elements will be considered.
- Academic curriculum relevant to the objective of the work program (60%) - Scientific and/or professional curriculum relevant to the objective of the work program (40%) The jury reserves the right to interview the three best-ranked candidates.
In the Interview the following parameters will be evaluated.
- Fluidity of speech and ability to convey ideas orally (35%); - Motivation and commitment (35%).
- Knowledge of the English language (30%) Candidates with a classification lower than , in the Curricular Evaluation, will be excluded from the competition.
In case the first-placed candidate does not accept the scholarship or gives up the scholarship during the course of the work program, the second-placed candidate may be invited to accept the scholarship.
This procedure may be repeated, according to the decision of the grantee's supervisors, respecting the order of the list included in the selection process minutes in subsequent cases of non-acceptance or withdrawal.

At all times during the evaluation process, confidentiality is fully protected and ensured in order to guarantee the independence of all opinions produced.
Applications.
The following documents are mandatory, under penalty of exclusion from the Call, and must be sent by email to .
- letter of motivation, where the applicant must mention if he / she is available to start the scholarship; - Curriculum Vitae, with indication of email and telephone contact; - Certificate of qualification, - the candidate's declaration of honor on the benefit of other previous scholarships awarded under the current FCT Scholarship Regulation - any other elements or documents considered relevant.
Submission deadline date 24 th January to 06 th February Expected starting date 01 st March Additional information The evaluation results will be announced within 90 working days after the end of the applications submission deadline, by notifying the applicants via email.
After the announcement of the results, candidates are considered automatically notified to, if they wish to do so, comment on the results on a preliminary hearing period within 10 days after that date.
After this, the selected candidates will have to declare in writing their acceptance.
Unless a justification worthy of consideration is presented, if the declaration is not submitted within the referred period, it is considered that the candidate waivers the fellowship.
In case of resignation or withdrawal of the selected candidate, the next candidate with the highest evaluation score will be notified immediately.
Once the selection process is completed, the fellowship contract will be drawn up in accordance with the draft contract provided by the FCT.
Selection reserve list The selection reserve list must be available throughout the project.
