I’ve led multiple projects in production operations that conducted the organization to increase the global efficiency and reduce downtime in operations. During these projects I’ve managed resources from different departments that where part of the team. With that I learned how to manage budgets, internal expectations and timelines to achieve the project goals. I have experience on Lean and Six Sigma tools to cover all the DMAIC project cycle and achieve the expected goals. A project that I’m proud of concluded with success consisted in a Six Sigma approach that improved 7,5 % of efficiency in our most added value production line. More than 20 persons where involved.
• For continuous improvement in shop floor and data collection, I’ve managed several initiatives to implement SPC in the plant from scratch. Part of this project provides easy tools to support operators on the shop on making better decisions on manual adjustments. This project also provides a large scale of production data to managers guiding the organization to a data driven culture. On these projects I’ve managed how to develop practical tools to the operators and support them with training and guidance on the shop floor. I’ve developed a group of PowerBI files, all of them connected to databases, that we can have access to production data in our mobile phone.
• Engineering Support Leader in the Operation of Restructuring of QA Department, VSM, SMED, more preventive team and more demanding control of operations.
Energy Team Manager. Manage the team resources, +/- 10, on different projects about energy consumption/cost saving opportunities. Guided trainees for a GALP 21 project, with 2 first prices won among 21 candidates.
• Energy Management System (EMS). A company as an energy intensive user, I have worked on a structured approach with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Taguchi Methods to focus on cost saving opportunities in production areas. All departments are connected to the company energy goals with a Responsibility Matrix. I’ve developed reporting tools in PowerBI to have a better control of the plant’s energy utilities on a daily bases.
• Elected Member for the Libbey Process Center of Excellence (CoE). I’m the linking pin for the Portugal Plant. Same opportunity/problem, one team, Global CAPEX.
• Leader in the reorganization of the packaging logistics process, increased efficiency, reduced time per task, resource optimization
