Having a profound interest in communication it was logical for me to pursue a career in a Marketing & Communications agency as an account manager specialized in PR. It taught me how to manage a smooth workflow with all my clients, imputing a sense of responsibility and creativity to deal with high pressure situations. Furthermore, I have been able to deepen my knowledge on relevant matters, namely writing articles and sending press releases to support various campaigns for many clients.

Additionally, being creative and generating new ideas is crucial for thriving in my position. It is worth highlighting voice-offs and creative texts (e.g. Ministério da Administração Interna and Ministério do Trabalho, Solidariedade e Segurança Social), advertising campaigns (e.g. Cáritas Portuguesa), social media planning (Ministério do Mar) and communication strategy planning (for all the clients mentioned above). Finally, working in a small company has been allowing me to grow significantly as it incentivizes me to get in touch with different clients and to be responsible for several projects.

The development of my academic path was mostly driven by an ambition to study and to further understand the fields of communications, politics and press related matters. For that reason, I chose International Relations and Political Science for my bachelor’s degree, which was crucial in developing the required skills and knowledge about Political Communication. Afterwards, I felt the natural path was to enhance my expertise with a Master’s in Journalism minoring in Political Communication. This allowed me to mature essential skills, namely in press writing, critical thinking and communications strategy planning.
