Joined the Viral Vector Lab (Ben Haley’s Lab) and worked closely with the disease area scientists to identify new 
therapeutic hypotheses and advance transformative medicines by using advanced viral vectors technologies and 
applications in both basic and pre-clinical research. 
 
• Designed, developed and optimized viral vectors to deliver genetic materials in vitro and in vivo for therapeutic 
target discovery/validation and animal disease model engineering; 
• Successfully planned, designed and executed experiments according to GLP and GMP, to obtain the project goals 
timelines, milestones, and budgeting.

Over 7 years worked as a Researcher at the Bioprocess and Bionanotechnology Research Group (BBRG) in several 
projects: Cationic Liposomes for gene delivery applications (1 year, post-grad project), Elastase inhibitors-loaded 
nanoparticles for transdermal delivery (1 year, master thesis), Monitoring Human Neutrophil Elastase (HNE) in 
chronic wounds (~5 years, PhD thesis) and Development of cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations (~1 year). 
 
• Engineered  an  auspicious  strategy  for  monitoring  chronic  wounds  using  protein-based  biosensors,  and 
developed functional biocompatible and biodegradable materials for numerous applications; 
• Invented ground-breaking and optimized cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations for skin and hair; 
• Collaborated in the Europe Commission EC-funded project INFACT “Functional materials for fast diagnosis of 
wound infection” (FP7-NMP-2013-SME-7, Reference 604278); 
• Acquired Hands-on technical experience and ability to interpret and troubleshoot chemical methods, cellular 
assays, microbiology and molecular biology techniques; 
• Performed  literature  reviews  and  statistical  analysis  of  research  data  to  support  a  range  of  projects,  and 
communicated  via  reports,  patents,  articles  in  peer-reviewed  journals  and  poster/oral  presentations  in 
international conferences.
