VULNERABILITY MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

Position Description.

Your future duties and responsibilities.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain Rapid7's vulnerability management solutions, including InsightVM and Nexpose.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans of network infrastructure, servers, endpoints, and applications to identify security vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
- Analyze scan results and prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity, exploitability, and potential impact to the organization.
- Work closely with IT and engineering teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain vulnerability management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Generate reports and metrics to track the progress of vulnerability management efforts and communicate risk to stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the vulnerability management program.
- Stay current with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits, and assess their potential impact on our environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to continuously enhance our vulnerability management capabilities.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in information security, with a focus on vulnerability management.
- Hands-on experience with Rapid7's vulnerability management solutions, including InsightVM and Nexpose.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability assessment methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Familiarity with common security frameworks and standards, such as ISO , NIST, and CIS Controls.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications such as Rapid7 Certified Administrator (R7CA) or Rapid7 Certified Analyst (R7CA) are preferred.
