SCRUM MASTER

Position Description.
This role is hybrid and requires you to be in our downtown client office (81 Bay St., Toronto) 2-3 times per week - subject to change at any time.
The Scrum Master’s role is to manage the project from initiation to implementation in an Agile fashion.
The incumbent will be responsible facilitators for Agile teams and manage all Agile ceremonies effectively.
The Scrum Master collaborates closely with the Product Owner to convert epics, stories, and other items listed in the sprint into actionable tasks for developers.
Scrum Masters assist in building a self-managed team, ensuring alignment with priorities, the overall schedule, and the full deployment of the team.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
• Provides guidance and coaching to the Scrum Team, aiding in the application of Agile practices and principles to ensure the delivery of top-notch products and services to our clientele.
• Elevates team performance by identifying strengths and areas for growth, utilizing suitable coaching methods, and fostering development.
• Ensures comprehension and adherence to Scrum theory, practices, and standards within the team.
• Guides the Scrum team in self-organization, fostering cross-functional skills, domain expertise, and effective communication both internally and externally.
• Collaborates with the Scrum Team and stakeholders, both internal and external, to influence decision-making and bolster support for organizational projects or products.
• Addresses impediments alongside other Scrum Masters to enhance the application of Scrum across the organization.
• Collaborates with Agile coaches and fellow Scrum Masters to evolve in the role.
• Contributes to enhancing Agile methodologies within the organization.
• Facilitates and reinforces all Scrum events, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
• Assumes a leadership role, offering guidance and support to Agile teams primarily engaged in Business as Usual (BAU) activities, along with key department initiatives and relevant segments of corporate projects.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Previous involvement in a Scrum Master position for 5+yrs experience along with understanding of software development processes.
• Proficient in Scrum techniques and artifacts, including the definition of done, user stories, automated testing, and backlog refinement.
• Strong communication skills and adept at servant leadership.
• Capable of problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Holds a degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• Certification as a Scrum Master is advantageous.
• Demonstrates and advocates for Agile values and principles.
• Possesses exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching abilities.
• Familiarity with an agile framework or methodology (such as Scrum, Kanban), or comprehension of software development life cycle models, coupled with a thorough understanding of traditional project management principles and practices.
• Proficient in refinement, story splitting, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum methodologies.
• Engages in planning and troubleshooting alongside product management and delivery teams.
