What you'll do Expectations & Tasks Demonstrate excellent quality, design, development and delivery skills in scrum teams working in short development and release cycles. Passion for clean and appropriately tested code Work with geographically distributed teams seamlessly Build domain expertise in the area of systems and cloud infrastructure space Having a logical approach to problem solving and have the ability to respond to detailed queries Working as a fully contributing team member with independent planning & execution responsibilities Learning & Development Opportunities Learn and work with internals of SAP BTP Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes Understand cloud native development Hands on experience with one of the hyperscaler providers (AWS/Azure/GCP/AliCloud) Understand what it takes to build multi-cloud platform offerings What you bring Have experience or genuine interest in backend development with Java, Javascript/Typescript (Node), Go and/or Python. Knowledge/Interest in Frontend development with React is a plus. Interest in databases development and maintenance like PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB and/or S3. Experience with source code management tools like Git. Experience with testing frameworks, unit testing, e2e/acceptance testing and performance testing. Interest and/or Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline flows and tools like Jenkins and scripts in Shell. Interest and/or Experience with Kubernetes and Docker containers. Awareness and/or Exposure to public cloud providers like AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud and/or SAP Private Cloud Ability to work autonomously with no fear to reach out if blocked. The Technical Services unit provides the multi-cloud foundation for SAP BTP and a layer of abstraction for all applications to run on both public clouds [AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud] and private cloud. Technical Services around data management, platform services, enterprise messaging etc. forms the key portfolio of the unit The Backing Services team is a multi-country team spread and working in 3 different development hub locations: Walldorf, Bangalore and Lisbon. We offer managed services with state-of-the-art security, high-availability, resilience, scalability and easy consumability including: PostgreSQL on SAP BTP, hyperscaler option [AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud] Redis on SAP BTP, hyperscaler option [AWS, Azure, GCP, AliCloud] Object Store on SAP BTP As a developer at the SAP BTP Core Backing Services Unit in Lisbon, you will be working on one of the above product components.
