RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP (PHD)

iBET, invites applications for a research fellowship in the field of Bioinformatics available within the project iNOVA4Health, co-financed by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia / Ministério da Ciência e do Ensino Superior, through national funds, and by FEDER under the PT Partnership Agreement.

in Bioinformatics, Bioengineering, Mathematics, Biochemistry or related fields Essential skills and experience At least 2 years of experience with transcriptomics (RNA-seq) data analysis, including differential gene expression and pathway/gene set enrichment analysis Hands-on experience in programming environments like Bash, R, or Python Strong critical and analytical thinking, with the ability to breakdown and tackle complex challenges independently with minor guidance Solid interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team Fluency in English (written and spoken) Desirable skills and experience Previous experience with single-cell RNA-seq data analysis, especially for cancer cell models and/or production platforms for cell and gene therapy products Hands-on experience with animal cell culture Good organizational skills and ability to manage simultaneously projects/tasks with different deadlines Work Plan.
The selected candidate will complement existing knowledge in the team and play a critical role in developing single-cell RNA-seq data analysis capabilities to advance our research in complex cell models and gene and cell therapies, thus contributing to our rapidly growing Health & Pharma Division.
Activities will include.
Establish tailored pipelines for single-cell and bulk RNA-seq data analysis Setup computational environments required for RNA-seq data analysis Contribute during experimental design to generate high-quality and information-rich datasets Provide expert advice, guidance and training in transcriptomics to iBET researchers and students Work closely with scientists from different Labs, backgrounds and expertise within iBET Communicate resulting work in scientific presentations and manuscripts Fellowship Duration.
The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law.
