Admission Requirements.
General requirements Any national, foreigner and stateless candidate(s) holding a PhD degree in Biotechnology, Engineering and Technology Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering, and other relevant areas.
Scientific maturity demonstrated in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals (reporting original work in the areas described above); Experience in the supervision of bachelor’s and/or master’s students; Excellent communication skills (oral and written); Excellent interpersonal skills; Fluency in English (oral and written).
Specific requirements Research experience in one or more of the following areas.
Animal cell culture techniques, including the development of 3D cell models and co-cultures; Bioactivity evaluation of natural bioactive compounds.
antioxidant, antiproliferative and anti-inflammatory assays (enzymatic and cell-based assays); Anti-hyperglycemic activity assays, including enzymatic methods and cellular-based assays (analysis of glucose transporters); Bioaccessibility studies (in vitro digestion methods) and permeability experiments (intestinal cells) for natural bioactive compounds;  Molecular biology techniques, such as Western Blotting, PCR and imunofluorescence assays; Human intervention studies with food and food supplements.
Contract and category.
The recruitment is carried out by means of a work contract under the terms of the Portuguese Labour Code, for individuals holding a Doctoral Degree, corresponding to Level 33 of the single remuneration table (TRU), in accordance with Decree-Law no.
