Admission Requirements.
General requirements Any national, foreigner and stateless candidate(s) holding a PhD degree in Life Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology or Engineering Sciences and Technology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and other relevant areas.
Scientific maturity demonstrated in the form of publications in peer-reviewed journals (reporting original work in the areas described above); Experience in the supervision of bachelor’s and/or master’s students; Excellent communication skills (oral and written); Excellent interpersonal skills; Fluency in English (oral and written).
Specific requirements Research experience in one or more of the following areas.
Design of extraction and micronization/formulation processes, using clean and sustainable technologies and statistical tools, for the production of functional ingredients (natural extracts enriched in bioactive compounds, proteins/peptides and natural colorants) from natural matrices; Analytical technologies for characterization of bioproducts, namely protein-enriched fractions and extracts enriched in bioactive compounds; Bioaccessibility, bioavailability and bioactivity studies of bioactive compounds using in vitro digestion methods and bioassays (chemical/enzymatic and cell-based assays).
Contract and category.
The recruitment is carried out by means of a work contract under the terms of the Portuguese Labour Code, for individuals holding a Doctoral Degree, corresponding to Level 33 of the single remuneration table (TRU), in accordance with Decree-Law no.
