MATERIAL COORDINATOR - GERMANY

The Material Coordinator is a role responsible for supervision of all the activity for receiving, checking, reporting, cataloguing, storing, preserve and delivering for erection to construction team all itemized and bulk materials to be installed on project plant.
Material Coordinator is also direct responsible for.
- Material handling/storage within the storage area - Protection of materials in the storage area according to project specifications and/or Vendor procedures - Supervise the activity of Preservation for all project materials according to project preservation programs and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Material Controller to align all Material Management System (MMS - CLA/Cadmatic COSMO 5), keeping the system continuously updated with proper information on material transfers (receiving and issuing movements) and inventory status.
The Material Coordinator shall collaborate with the Technical Office, Qa/Qc Dept., in case of detection of missing material or material nonconformity according to the Drawings/Specification or packing list description and quantities.
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Utilize the Material Management System (MMS - CLA/Cadmatic COSMO 5), in collaboration with Material Controller, Engineering and Procurement Dept.
- Ensure to complies with all Company Policies, Procedures and Regulations in terms of Health, Safety, Environment, Security and Quality.
- Provides leadership to cause the creation of organization to ensure the work execution in compliance to the Construction needs, Quality, and project specification.
- Coordination of all the activity starting from the project procedure/packing list/certification review up to the material handover to erection team or client.
- Supervise and manage all operational activities on project yard/s, warehouse/s or any other location where the project material is located in any project phase, coordinating the activities of the foreman up to the general helpers (direct manpower or subcontractor) - Define, on time, in collaboration with the Material Controller, the needs in terms of quantity and quality of resources (personnel, vehicles and materials) on site, logistic structures (reception and storage points for materials, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities Details.
- Ensure that all the personnel are certified to execute specific task and all related certification FTW and training required to enter on site.
- Assure the establishment of the construction team (foreman, up to the helpers) according to HSE Company (and Clients) requirements and the quality assurance procedures.
- Ensuring that both the health and safety project plans are apply.
- Apply the waste management procedure collaborating with the HSE department.
- Apply the stop work policy toward each project phase for activities under his responsibility or not.
- Ensure that equipment and tools to execute the project activities are complying to the project activities in terms of quantities and quality.
- Use of human, material and tool resources on the construction site, establishing the daily schedule of activities with the Foreman in order to maximize integration between the various work areas.
- Verify, on time, with the collaboration of the HSE department the permit to work.
- Organizing all workers (subcontractor or direct manpower) to performing the activities as required in accordance with project/vendor drawings, procedure.
- Ensure that each part of material management team (up to the helper) is capable of performing their allotted scope of work.
- Ensures that all material management activities performed in storage facilities and laydown areas comply with all Corporate Policy, Procedures and Regulations in terms of Health, Safety, Environment, and Security.
- Manage day-by-day operational aspects for the activity of receiving, checking, reporting, cataloguing, storing, preserve and delivering for erection to construction or hand-over of project material to the client.
- Be Responsible of the integrity and maintenance of equipment under the using of direct manpower or subcontractor.
- Plan on time, manage and coordinate the preparation activity of Warehouse/s, yard/s, ensure that all necessary bulk materials are suitable (quality/quantity) to receive the material.
- Manage the receiving, check, recording of materials using Material Management System.
- Support the Qa/Qc Inspectors during the inspection phase, ensuring the material release.
- Collaborate with the QA/QC, Technical Office or procurement Dpt.
to report any anomaly of quality or quantities.
- Keep damaged or non-conforming materials segregated, storing it in a dedicated quarantine area until instruction is received from Project Management.
- Verify and be responsible of the correct storage of the goods and its traceability.
- Be responsible for good housekeeping and ensures that all Warehouse and outside areas are kept in a neat, clean and tidy condition.
- Ensure to receive/apply for the Engineering dept.
the preservation procedure, schedule and forms with assistance of preservation team.
- Manage on time, the delivery of materials to Construction department in accordance with material list presented by the same and according to the instructions given by the Material Controller.
- Keep records of all material list (vouchers) delivered to construction and relevant responsible.
- Collaborate with the Material Controller to keep records of spare parts to be issued to Client - Collaborate with the Material Controller keep records of surplus materials for material inventory at project completion.
Work Experience Requirements.
- Minimum previous experience of 3 years in a similar role in medium size Oil&Gas or Power Plants.
- Previous experience in plant construction supervision is a plus.
Soft Skills and Competencies.
- Consolidate knowledge of Oil&Gas Plant materials, specifically of piping components - Multidisciplinary knowledge to read Engineering drawings - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Computer literate and previous experience with Material Management Tools - Good IT skills - Willingness to be a change agent - People management attitude - Detail oriented and methodical - Collaboration and teamwork - Strong HSE commitment - No conflict attitude - No blame attitude - Note.
Able to read, write and speak in English, second language is a plus.
Education Requirements.
- General certificate of Secondary Education or relevant experience Oil and Gas downstream and midstream sectors.
- Equivalent industry certifications and experience will be considered Work Conditions.
- Site attendance Other Specific Requirements.
- Ability to read a properly interpret Engineering drawings.
- Computer knowledges Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
