CALL FOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Aerodinâmica Industrial - ADAI opens a call for 1 fellowship, in the framework of project EuDetCode- European Detonation Code, reference EDA/RTI/JAB, financed by the Portuguese Ministry of Defense, in the following conditions.
Scientific area(s).
Mechanical Engineering Skills/Qualifications/Admission requirements Applicants who fulfill the following requisites will be considered.
a) completed a Master's degree in the area of the competition or in related areas; b) with Portuguese nationality; c) knowledge of English Work plan/ Objectives The scholarship aims at scientific training through participation in works, mainly computational/numerical and with an experimental component.
The work plan developed assumes the completion of work leading to the degree of Doctor.
The main tasks of the work to be carried out are.
(1) computational modeling of thermochemical equilibrium code for combustion or detonation processes; (2) participation in the characterization process of a Photon Dopler velocimetry system; (3) analysis of experimental results (3) writing reports and scientific papers.
Regime.
The attribution of the fellowship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime.
The fellowship holder is awarded the Fellowship Statute of ADAI, in its current wording, according to the Research Fellowship Holder Statute, and according to the Regulation for Research Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.
., both in their current wording.
Location.
Work will be developed within the activities of the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics of the Associated Laboratory in Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (ADAI-LAETA).
The work place is DEM-FCTUC or other places that are necessary for the execution of the work plan Duration.
The fellowship will last for 12 months on an exclusive basis, with the possibility of renewal, but never beyond the end date of the project, in accordance with the FCT Research Fellowship Regulations and the ADAI Scientific Research Fellowship Regulations.
Renewal.
The eventual renewal of the scholarship will be done as determined in art.

The payment will be made by bank transfer.
Selection Methods.
All applications submitted within the deadline and containing all required documents will be evaluated Selection criteria.
In the Curricular Evaluation the following elements will be taken into account.
- Master's degree in the scientific area of the competition.
70%; Master's degree in a different scientific area.
50%; - Knowledge about characterization of combustion/detonation processes.
(30%).
In the Interview the following parameters will be evaluated.
- Fluidity of speech and ability to convey ideas orally (35%); - Motivation and commitment (35%).
- Knowledge of the English language (30%) Candidates with a classification lower than , in the Curricular Evaluation, will be excluded from the competition.
In case the first-placed candidate does not accept the scholarship or gives up the scholarship during the course of the work program, the second-placed candidate may be invited to accept the scholarship.
This procedure may be repeated, according to the decision of the grantee's supervisors, respecting the order of the list included in the selection process minutes in subsequent cases of non-acceptance or withdrawal.

At all times during the evaluation process, confidentiality is fully protected and ensured in order to guarantee the independence of all opinions produced.
Applications.
The following documents are mandatory, under penalty of exclusion from the Call, and must be sent by email to .
- letter of motivation, where the applicant must mention if he / she is available to start the scholarship; - Curriculum Vitae, with indication of email and telephone contact; - Certificate of qualification, - the candidate's declaration of honor on the benefit of other previous scholarships awarded under the current FCT Scholarship Regulation - any other elements or documents considered relevant.
Note 4.
Important note for candidates holding a degree issued by foreign higher education institutions.
In the case of academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and to guarantee the principle of equal treatment among applicants with national and foreign academic degrees, the applicants must submit proof of recognition of such degrees and the conversion of the respective final average grade to the Portuguese grading scale under the terms of the applicable legislation.
Applicants with recognized foreign academic degrees who do not submit a proof of conversion of the final average grade to the Portuguese grading scale will be evaluated with the minimum grade of 0 (zero) points in criterion Curriculum Evaluation (AC).
In any case, scholarship contracts with applicants whose diplomas have been issued by foreign institutions will only be concluded upon presentation of proof of recognition of academic degrees and conversion of the final average grade, as indicated above.
Submission deadline date 17th to 28th July Expected starting date 1 st September Additional information The evaluation results will be announced within 90 working days after the end of the applications submission deadline, by notifying the applicants via email.
After the announcement of the results, candidates are considered automatically notified to, if they wish to do so, comment on the results on a preliminary hearing period within 10 days after that date.
After this, the selected candidates will have to declare in writing their acceptance.
Unless a justification worthy of consideration is presented, if the declaration is not submitted within the referred period, it is considered that the candidate waivers the fellowship.
In case of resignation or withdrawal of the selected candidate, the next candidate with the highest evaluation score will be notified immediately.
Once the selection process is completed, the fellowship contract will be drawn up in accordance with the draft contract provided by the FCT.
Selection reserve list The selection reserve list must be available throughout the project.
