Position Description.

Your future duties and responsibilities.
Data Modeling and Database Design - Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
Translate business requirements into comprehensive data models ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity.
Agile Methodology - Experience in collaborating within Agile Scrum teams.
Translating business requirements into database designs that align with iterative development cycles.
Communication and Collaboration - Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders.
Facilitating discussions to gather requirements, articulate design decisions, and provide ongoing support to ensure alignment with project goals.
Technology - proficiency and experience with data modelling tools (ER/Studio, ERWin) for common RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server) and schema management (Liquibase, Flyway).
Problem-Solving and Adaptability - Strong problem-solving skills for addressing complex data modeling challenges and optimizing database structures for performance and scalability.
The ability to adapt to evolving project requirements, technology advancements, and changing business needs within a dynamic microservice environment.
The Resource will be responsible for the following activities and deliverables.
• Gather business requirements from key project stakeholders • Gather technical requirements from Support teams • Analyze all gathered requirements • Create Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models, using ER/Studio Data Architect, following the Bank’s Enterprise Data Architecture standard and industry best practice and standards • Establish Data Architecture based on gathered requirements • Maintain and support updates to Data Models and Data Architecture, throughout project lifecycle • Document design and build book for Data Models and Data Architecture • Complete Data Architecture portion of the Solution Architecture Document • Mentor and coach portfolio Data Modeler • Knowledgeable on data modelling foundational items such as security, logging, meta-data, etc.
• Provide source and destination mappings and business transformations for ETL Specification/Design • Support and provide guidance to ETL Developer • Create and populate Data Dictionary to support and define data elements in data model • Identify common data elements that need to be setup for use by multiple stakeholders Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
• Seven to ten years of demonstrated hands-on experience in building conceptual, logical, and physical data models, for projects ranging from 6 months to three years in duration • Five years of demonstrated hand-on experience in building data models for data warehouse solutions • Demonstrated experience in reverse-engineering of data models from COTS product • Oracle 12c and SQL Server • Experience in modeling data for Enterprise Java EE applications • Experience in modeling using ER/Studio Data Architect #LI-KM1 Skills.
