At the moment, we are looking for a Data Engineer Consultant.
This  person will play a pivotal role in our data-driven initiatives, focusing on designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems.
Collaborating with cross-functional and multicultural teams, the selected candidate will implement efficient data solutions facilitating ingestion, storage, processing, and analysis, thereby enabling data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
Expertise in big data technologies and engineering will be instrumental in driving the success of our projects and contributing to the growth and innovation of the company.
Main Responsibilities.
Design and maintain scalable big data processing infrastructure, including data pipelines and ETL workflows.
Create data ingestion pipelines from diverse sources like databases, APIs, and files.
Develop data processing pipelines to cleanse, filter, and preprocess data.
Set up and oversee distributed computing clusters for efficient data processing.
Implement secure data storage solutions for large volumes of data.
Fine-tune pipelines, code, and cluster configurations for optimal performance.
Establish and enforce data governance and maintain a data catalog.
Document framework, cluster, and project details systematically.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and deliver solutions.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
Evaluate and recommend tools and techniques to improve data engineering projects.
Operate within a continuous development framework, meeting deadlines and tracking tasks.
Must to have.
Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
1+ years' experience in Software Engineering or Data Engineering.
Strong Python proficiency with data-related frameworks.
Solid Software Development fundamentals.
Proficient in SQL queries, database architecture understanding.
Strong analytical skills for data quality assurance.
Good grasp of data modeling, structures, management best practices.
Understanding of distributed computing principles.
Excellent communication, collaboration in multicultural teams.
Knowledge of Apache Spark, Hadoop, Airflow, Presto, Apache Drill is a plus.
Familiarity with in-house big data platforms beneficial.
Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, and exploratory analysis is advantageous.
Driven, dynamic, focused on process improvement.
Fluent in English.
Must be Portuguese or European citizen, or having a work permit for Portugal   What we offer at Keyrus Portugal.
