Job Description.
As a Corporate Human Rights Expert at (COMPANY NAME), your primary responsibility is to oversee human rights matters within the company and its supply chains, with a specific focus on the Americas region.
Your role involves developing and supporting the implementation of methods, processes, systems, and measures to ensure compliance with human rights due diligence obligations.
This includes analyzing and evaluating existing and upcoming legal and regulatory requirements, such as LkSG, UFLPA, Canada's Forced and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, CSDDD, and others.
Additionally, you will consider relevant stakeholder expectations and collaborate closely with central purchasing departments to steer requirements effectively.
Qualifications.
* University degree in law, international law/human rights, or related fields such as legal, economic, or political sciences.
* Several years of professional experience in implementing human rights due diligence obligations, preferably in a corporate/industrial environment or with NGO experience in business and human rights.
* Excellent knowledge of human rights standards, ideally with a deep understanding of relevant regulations in the Americas.
* Ability to quickly grasp new complex topics and strategic thinking combined with pragmatism.
* Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on results.
* Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with external contacts and various departments, divisions, and locations.
* Networking skills and a team player mentality.
* Ability to present complex issues to target audiences effectively.
* Proficiency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish (business fluent).
This role requires someone who is not only knowledgeable about human rights standards and regulations but also proactive in implementing them within the company and supply chains.
Collaboration, communication, and a commitment to ethical business practices are essential aspects of this position.
