CERTIFICATE MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT

Position Description.

Your future duties and responsibilities.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital certificates, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and expiration.
- Configure and maintain certificate management platforms such as Entrust Certificate Services, AppViewX, Venafi, or similar solutions.
- Monitor certificate usage and expiration dates to ensure compliance with security policies and industry regulations.
- Work closely with internal teams to identify certificate requirements and provide guidance on best practices for certificate usage.
- Develop and implement certificate management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistent and secure certificate deployment.
- Perform regular audits and assessments of certificate usage and compliance, and implement remediation actions as needed.
- Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve certificate-related issues and incidents.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners to procure and manage third-party certificates as needed.
- Stay current with the latest developments and trends in certificate management technologies and practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert on certificate management, providing expertise and guidance to both internal teams and stakeholders.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in certificate management or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with certificate management platforms such as Entrust Certificate Services, AppViewX, Venafi, or similar solutions.
- Strong understanding of digital certificate concepts, including PKI, X.
certificates, certificate authorities, and certificate revocation mechanisms.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to certificate management, such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISA) are preferred.
