Scientific area(s).
Mechanical Engineering; Energy and environment Skills/Qualifications/Admission requirements PhD in Mechanical Engineering or similar areas Work plan/ Objectives The grant aims at the consolidation of scientific training through the development of a research work that includes the following tasks.
a) "Front-end project" of a system capable of producing an energy vector from the combustion of the residues that result directly from a sustained forest management; b) Project for implementing the recommended system in the forestry machines developed within this project, with the aim of making them energy autonomous; c) Experimental development, at reduced scale, of the solution studied from the technical point of view (proof of concept).
Regime.
The attribution of the fellowship does not generate or entitle a relation of a legal-labour nature, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime.
The fellowship holder is awarded the Fellowship Statute of ADAI, in its current wording, according to the Research Fellowship Holder Statute, and according to the Regulation for Research Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.
., both in their current wording.
Location.
Work will be developed within the activities of the Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics of the Associated Laboratory in Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (ADAI-LAETA).
The workplace is located at the Mechanical Engineering Department, or other places that are necessary for the execution of the work plan Duration.
The fellowship will last for 6 months on an exclusive basis, with the possibility of renewal, but never beyond the end date of the project, in accordance with the FCT Research Fellowship Regulations and the ADAI Scientific Research Fellowship Regulations.
Renewal.
The eventual renewal of the scholarship will be done as determined in art.

This amount will not increase during the entire period of the fellowship duration.
Selection Methods.
All applications submitted within the deadline and containing all required documents will be evaluated Selection criteria.
The evaluation will be based on Curriculum Evaluation (AC – 60%) and Interview (E – 40%) to the three-best classified in the AC.
In the curricular assessment the following elements will be taken into account.
adequacy and evaluation of previous training (10%) and CV (50%).
The CV should.
i) list the R&DT projects (20%) in which he has been involved, ii) scientific publications in the area of the project (20%) and iii) demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge in scientific research, focusing on the area of the project (20%), namely through lectures, presentations, training sessions, etc.
In the interview, the following will be evaluated.
i) knowledge related to the work to be developed (15%); ii) fluency of speech and ability to convey ideas (10%); iii) command of the English language (10%) and iv) behavior and politeness (5%).
If there are no candidates with a Curriculum Evaluation greater than 60%, the Jury reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
If the first-placed candidate does not accept the scholarship or gives up the scholarship during the course of the work program, the second-placed candidate may be invited to accept the scholarship.
This procedure may be repeated, according to the decision of the grantee's supervisors, respecting the order of the list in the minutes of the selection process in subsequent cases of non-acceptance or withdrawal.

At all times during the evaluation process, confidentiality is fully protected and ensured in order to guarantee the independence of all opinions produced.
Applications.
The following documents are mandatory, under penalty of exclusion from the Call, and must be sent by email to .

Note 1.
Important note for candidates holding a degree issued by foreign higher education institutions.
In the case of academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and to guarantee the principle of equal treatment among applicants with national and foreign academic degrees, the applicants must submit proof of recognition of such degrees and the conversion of the respective final average grade to the Portuguese grading scale under the terms of the applicable legislation.
Applicants with recognized foreign academic degrees who do not submit a proof of conversion of the final average grade to the Portuguese grading scale will be evaluated with the minimum grade of 0 (zero) points in criterion Curriculum Evaluation (AC).
In any case, scholarship contracts with applicants whose diplomas have been issued by foreign institutions will only be concluded upon presentation of proof of recognition of academic degrees and conversion of the final average grade, as indicated above.
Submission deadline date 14th july Additional information The evaluation results will be announced within 90 working days after the end of the applications submission deadline, by notifying the applicants via email.
After the announcement of the results, candidates are considered automatically notified to, if they wish to do so, comment on the results on a preliminary hearing period within 10 days after that date.
After this, the selected candidates will have to declare in writing their acceptance.
Unless a justification worthy of consideration is presented, if the declaration is not submitted within the referred period, it is considered that the candidate waivers the fellowship.
In case of resignation or withdrawal of the selected candidate, the next candidate with the highest evaluation score will be notified immediately.
Once the selection process is completed, the fellowship contract will be drawn up in accordance with the draft contract provided by the FCT.
