Process Engineer responsible for two types of Automotive Oil Piston Rings (Confidential) for Light Vehicles, Medium Duty Vehicles and Heavy Duty Vehicles.  

Implementation of new projects/technologies:
- Technical meetings with worldwide suppliers of raw material, machines and equipment;
- Participation in Internal Global Meetings with Process, Product and Applications Engineers/Experts (this includes performing several oral presentations in English); 
- Internal Meetings with the Tech Center to discuss the project's status, redefinition of the visual inspection criteria for the rings and analysis of other quality issues;
- Leading/Coordinating an Engineering Team (Chemical and Mechanical Engineers) during the technology process approval;
 
Regarding new projects for the two specific oil piston rings (attending customer samples and purchase orders):
- Performing Feasibility Analysis of the rings according with the Product Standards (QG0);
- Revision and proposals (modifications) for the current product standards;
- Launching of new samples and coordination of the APP Launching Meetings (QG1);
- Follow-up and coordination of the most important process stages with the operators; 
- Study/Investigation of the rings critical parameters along the process (Control Mapping Process Data);
- Visual Inspection of the oil rings and Results Interpretation with quality and audit teams;
- Industrialization of the Rings and Production Rump-up Activities (QG2 and QG3);
- Gathering of SPC (Statistical Process Control) data to control key characteristics of the rings;
- Performing Pareto's graphs to analyse the Scrap rate evolution;
- Revision of the process routes (which include the process flow, the work instructions for all the operations, the drawing of the ring and the control plans).
- Complete tooling management for each serial production new project for specific Automotive Oil Piston Ring (drawings specifications, follow-up of requests, try-out and validation)

Internship:

Monitoring activities of the technicians and Production lead by the four Maintenance Supervisors. 

Evaluation of the conveyors and lubrication systems and development of new toolling and procedures to improve the daily production rates.

Analysis of equipment (pumps, ovens, oils, units of air treatment, robots and many others), interaction with the maintenance software and building of the new warehouse in the Painting Department. 

Participation in quality and production meetings and team-working with the engineering team (tecnhical, process and production departments).

I have chosen the Production Area.

I consider myself as an organized person, methodical and always willing to learn. The IST (Instituto Superior Técnico) forced me to redefine the meaning of hard work. I have full confidence in my abilities and I know that work, humility, perseverance and trust are crucial to achieve my goals. 

I took a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering and developed my Master Thesis (Maintenance and Tribology Area) while doing a Student Trainee Program inside the company Volkswagen Autoeuropa. Simultaneously, I created the project Auxiliary Care with a colleague of mine and we have won different prizes (JAP, Montepio, Fábrica de Startups) related with entrepreneurship. We developed a non functional prototype and went to several meetings in order to grow our network and present our products and project.

Furthermore, I have taken an intensive English intensive course in British Council and did the exam on the 3rd of December of 2016. From now on, I have the Advanced level C1 by the Cambridge University in English.

Basketball is also part of my life, since I played for so long and learned so much with the teams I have played for. I started playing when I was 7 years old and since then I have played for 5 different teams and have won several championships. Nowadays I play with some friends (retired professional basketball players) twice a week.

Currently, I am working at Mahle, Engine Components at Murtede. The learning experience has been terrific and everyday I get to know more about the automotive industry, specially about the piston rings technology.

I will always want to work with a company that has good core values, experience and that can present me challenges. 

My goal is to challenge myself everyday and apply the knowledge obtained to teach the younger ones in the future. Teamwork and Leadership always have been two keywords for me.
