Upon graduating from university, I took a position in the Energy and Resource Management branch of the New Zealand Government, where I prepared advice for the Minister of Energy and Resources on topics related to encouraging meaningful consultations with indigenous groups and environmental considerations for energy and resource exploration. Here, I gained skills in written communication by preparing Memos and Briefings for the Minister and Chief Executive. 

I worked in the Auckland branch of SLR Consulting as a geology student, and assisted on projects ranging from waste sequestration to emergency disaster management from regional councils and environmental groups.

Working at Shell New Zealand over the summer period involved a large amount of learning skills in a very short amount of time, and then using these skills in a highly-professional environment, demanding accuracy and rapidity. My job involved creating a means to display information about well drilling sites, and organising database information.
