▪ Contract administration and subcontracts department manager.
▪ Definition, in articulation with the Project Manager, of the contract strategies to be followed.
▪ Leadership of the financing process for the electromechanical equipment’s with Deutsche Bank and in accordance with World Bank standards.
▪ Coordination and conduction of meetings and communications between the Engineer (COBA – Consultores em Engenharia do Ambiente), Designer (Intertechne Brasil) and Client (GAMEK).
▪ Preparation and submission of project’s monthly progress reports.
▪ Preparation and submission of project’s progress claims, quantity surveying reports, monthly and rise and fall invoices.

Roadworks and site facilities construction – Simandou Area 3
Local: Guiné Conakry, Kissidougou
▪ Contract administration, quantity surveying, cost control and document control department manager.
▪ Definition of contract strategies to be followed, in articulation with the project manager.
▪ Preparation and submission of project’s Progress Claims.
▪ Identification of variations to the contract. Preparation and submission of several contract variations / claims in liaison with the planning and engineering departments (as extension of time, additional works, tax reimbursement, standby time,…). Negotiation of claims with client.
▪ Letter writing of all correspondence exchanged with client and subcontractors (letters, RFIs,…).
▪ Development and implementation of cost control procedures. Preparation and analysis of monthly cost reports to ensure consistency between cost reporting, planning and financial figures.
▪ Development and implementation of document control procedures for the distribution and archiving of letters and technical documents (drawings, method of statements, RFIs,…).
▪ Leadership of the contract close-out meetings, related to the project completion. Settlements, final discharges and claims negotiation.
▪ Preparation and submission of close-out documentation.
▪ Mentoring and training of local junior engineers.

Tendering for three construction projects
Local: Portugal, Lisboa
▪ Team member for the tendering of three construction projects (railway, port and earthworks).
▪ Identification, drafting and submission of contractual and technical requests for information to the client.
▪ Development of the risk matrix for each project. Interpretation of each contract and contract
specifications in order to identify risks and liabilities.
▪ Preparation of cost forecasts based on technical and procurement information received and in
coordination with planning teams.
▪ Preparation of financial forecasts and scenarios based on the planning construction activities and the
contractual invoicing mechanisms.
▪ Revision of method of statements to be submitted with the tender files, assuring compliance with each
client’s respective norms and specifications.

Construction of an Iron Ore Mine and facilities
Local: Guiné Conakry, N’zérékoré
▪ Coordination of the environment and community department.
▪ Leadership of the environmental permitting process. Presentations to government agencies.
▪ Assistance to the client in developing the Environmental Impact Assessment, led by SNC Lavalin.
▪ Development and implementation of the Environmental and Community Management Plan:
identification of legal and other requirements (environmental laws, regulations and best practices).
▪ Execution of the Compensation Plan for affected areas (World Bank standards).
▪ Implementation of several Monitoring Plans: air quality, biodiversity (fauna and flora), cultural heritage,
erosion and sedimentation, fire and spill management, hazardous materials, noise, waste, water and
community grievance.
▪ Successful conclusion of the IFC environmental audit process. Revision of the project procedures
ensuring compliance to any changes to client’s standards and country’s legal requirements.
▪ Responsible for the implementation of a major programme for water supply to communities:
supervision of the geophysical studies. Coordination of the drilling works for 36 water wells. Execution
of civil works and pump installation.
▪ Installation of 14 piezometers. Contract supervision and quantity surveying.
▪ Development and execution of the deforestation and reforestation programmes. Botanist survey and
inventory of 100 ha of secondary tropical forest. Deforestation activities coordination.
▪ Dimensioning, procurement, assembling and start-up of a wastewater and a water treatment plant for a
350 men camp.
▪ Collection, analysis and submittal of GIS information of the project’s surveyed areas to the client.

▪ Team member for the implementation of the Environment and Communities Management Plan.
▪ Follow-up of site-activities for 10 management and monitoring plans (noise, air quality, water quality,
aquatic ecosystems, vegetation and habitats, fauna, socio-economy, land use, landscape,
microclimatic changes and archeology).
▪ Assistance in the preparation of environmental monthly reports.
▪ Research, plan, organize and conduct environmental training programs for employees and contractors.
▪ Performance of job site environmental compliance inspections. Monitoring of operations to ensure
adherence to company’s procedures.
▪ ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18000 certification.
