Position Description.
We are seeking a Spend Analysis Specialist who possesses programming skills and a deep understanding of procurement systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing procurement data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
The role requires expertise in programming to develop scripts and tools for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
The Spend Analysis Specialist will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive informed decision-making and improve procurement processes.
Your future duties and responsibilities.
1.
Utilize programming skills, particularly in Python, to develop scripts and tools for data extraction, transformation, and analysis from various procurement systems and databases.
2.
Analyze procurement data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies related to spend, supplier performance, and purchasing behavior, leveraging custom-developed tools where necessary.
3.
Conduct comprehensive spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, mitigate risks, and optimize procurement processes, supported by internally developed tools.
4.
Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable insights and data-driven recommandations, leveraging custom-developed tools for specific needs.
5.
Design and develop custom tools, dashboards, reports, and visualisations tailored to procurement needs, using programming skills and tools like Power BI.
6.
Perform regular audits and data validation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of procurement data.
8.
Provide training and support to end-users on procurement systems and tools, as needed.
9.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance data quality, process efficiency, and decision-making capabilities within the procurement function.
These tasks involve crucial administrative responsibilities related to the management and enhancement of procurement tools and the timely production of various reports essential for decision-making and risk management within the organization.
The Spend Analysis Specialist will be expected to efficiently execute these tasks while ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role.
1.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
2.
Proven experience as a data analyst, business analyst, or similar role, with a focus on procurement and spend analysis, including experience in tool development.
3.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data manipulation, analysis, and tool development.
4.
Experience with developing custom tools and solutions for procurement processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
5.
Strong understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, and contract management.
6.
Solid understanding of data analysis techniques, statistical methods, and data visualization tools.
7.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
8.
Ability to communicate complex concepts and insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
10.
Prior experience in developing and maintaining databases, data warehouses, or data lakes is a plus.
11.
Certification in procurement, data analytics, or related field is desirable but not required.
